We collect only what's needed to run RoamHer: • Account info: your name, email address, and profile photo. • Location: your approximate GPS position — used on-device to show your avatar on the map and surface nearby events. Your precise location is never stored on our servers. • Profile data: interests, bio, avatar configuration, and event history that you choose to add. • Usage data: which events you view, attend, or save — so we can improve recommendations.
We use your information only to: • Show you relevant events and community content near you. • Match you with women who share your interests. • Send you event reminders and credit notifications (only if you allow them). • Improve the app based on aggregated, anonymous usage patterns. We never sell your personal data. We never use it for advertising.
Location access is used in real-time on your device to: • Place your avatar on the Explore map. • Show walking and driving times to events. • Surface events in your neighborhood. Your exact coordinates are processed locally. We store only your neighborhood-level area (e.g. "Mission District") as part of your profile, and only if you select it.
Camera and photo access is requested only when you: • Upload or change your profile photo. • Take a photo to share at an event. We access only the specific photo you choose. We never access your camera or photo library in the background.
If you grant notification permission, we send: • Reminders 24 hours before a Roam you've RSVP'd to. • Confirmations when your Roam Request is filled. • Alerts when you earn a credit or badge. • Occasional community highlights (at most once a week). You can revoke notification permission in your device settings at any time.
We do not sell your data — ever. We share information only with: • Trusted infrastructure providers (hosting, database) under strict data-processing agreements. • Payment processors (Stripe) when you make a purchase — we never see or store your card details. Your profile is visible to other verified RoamHer members. You control which fields appear on your public profile.
You have the right to: • Access all data we hold about you. • Correct or update any information. • Delete your account and all associated data at any time (Settings → Delete Account). • Export your data in a portable format. • Withdraw any permission (location, notifications, camera) through your device settings. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest. Access to production data is strictly limited to essential team members and is logged. We conduct regular security reviews.
RoamHer is for women 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it immediately.
We'll notify you by email and in-app before making any material changes to this policy. Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance.
